Sue and Dickie Ward took on the Cayley Arms at Allerston in March 2008. Sue is a former primary school teacher and Dickie is a beef farmer and they still have a working farm at the bottom of the Village. If you are lucky enough to visit them in the spring time, you may even get to see the newborn lambs. Sue and Dickie have lived in the village for over 15 years and are very familiar with village life and the rural community.

Having spent all of their lives in North Yorkshire they are particularly knowledgeable on what’s what, so please do not hesitate to ask them about anything, they will be happy to try and help you. They will also be happy to advice you on walks around the North Yorkshire Moors and if you ask nicely, Dickie might even tell you about his family farming history from the days on the moors.
